Coventry Reserve participants engage in a variety of therapeutic activities and tools to build thinking pathways, promote attention and flexibility, and integrate sensory perceptions.
Our staff offers guided instruction that assists and encourages participants to be actively involved in learning. Participants create beautiful handcrafted pottery and art, building skills and confidence through consistent instruction, encouragement, and reinforcement of each artist’s abilities.
Physical activity enriches a balanced day. Adapted fitness activities help maintain digestion and good health. We make exercising fun with activities such as stretching, group sports, walking, games, dancing, relay races, indoor volleyball, and more.
Planting, maintaining, harvesting, and sharing God’s gifts is a rewarding experience. Participants learn basic concepts of plant development, soil and water, ecology and environment, insects and diseases, and landscaping.
We encourage participants to stretch beyond perceived limitations. Our creative curriculum addresses various levels of abilities, providing basic knowledge and practice in the elements and principles of art and design.
Our group of Signing Stars perform as special guests at various churches and organizations within the community. By combining sign language, music, and performance, signing becomes easier and more enjoyable to learn.
Through this limited program, overnight respite care is available for Coventry Reserve families. For participants in this program, respite care is available in a true family-style setting, in a single-family home.
We use life’s circumstances to guide participants on overcoming life’s challenges. Lessons involve current events, holidays, culture, poetry, art, dance, music, manners, and many more fun and varied activities. We strive to move our participants from self-focus to others-focused, so they can participate in the world around them in a more positive way.
This unique program is designed to accommodate those participants needing higher levels of adaptive instruction, while still challenging and stretching them beyond perceived limitations, through curriculum that is abbreviated with consideration for limited attention span and endurance.
